Sugarbush Maple Syrup Festival
All of these photos were taken by myself (Hanif Bayat)
Maple leaf is the national symbol of Canada, which can be found in the Canadian flag. Since beautiful red maple leaves can be found easily in the Fall season in Canada, the beauty of the Canada nature is presented as the red maple leaf symbol. Getting maple syrup from maple trees has a long history which rooted in the aboriginal people traditions, who have been in Canada long time before the Europeans immigration to Canada. The tradition of getting maple syrup during the firsts of spring time is passed from the aboriginals to the new residents of Canada. In the below photos, you can find the tour of maple syrup bush that was held in Kortright Centre for conservation at the north west of GTA (Great Toronto Area). The old method as well as the new method of getting maple syrup are shown in these photos.
